Plymouth, the largest township in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is comprised of nine “villages” which are fairly distinct geographically and in character.

In 1986, Rita Gallant and Julie Gallant Murphy decided to use their intimate knowledge of this area to serve the Real Estate needs of the surrounding communities. Plymouth Village Realtors was founded in September 1986 and since then has become the most successful and longest running Independent Real Estate office in Plymouth.

This success is anchored by simple principals. Honesty, integrity, professionalism and a dedication to maintaining open lines of communication with our customers. We provide hands-on service to buyers and sellers in the region. Our knowledge of the market and our experienced, professional staff are unsurpassed and the reason that Plymouth Village Realtors sells more homes per agent than any other office.

Two years after opening Julie and Rita made a decision that has served their clients and their company well over the years. Then, the message was simple, you had to either become a big franchising machine or a boutique specializing in specific areas and offering a service-oriented approach. There was never a question as to what type of company Plymouth Village was to be, and true to our roots customer service remains our highest priority.

To enhance our independent and customer oriented service we became members of the Realty Guild in 1988. The flourishing association, which is an organization of independently owned and operated real estate offices, stretches from Massachusetts to Maine. Serving over 200 cities and towns, Realty Guild has more than 80 offices with over 1000 associates who are not associated with chain or franchise corporations.

Rita has BA from Salve Regina College and holds CBR and ABR designations and has been a year-round resident of the community since 1967; as such, her knowledge of the region is unsurpassed. Julie has a BS in Nutrition and a minor in Marketing Communications from Framingham State College. The team's supporting real estate staff includes GRI- and SRES-certified professionals, who share Rita and Julie’s passion for customer service.

Community involvement and public service is a top priority for Plymouth Village. Julie and Rita volunteer their time with the South Shore Women’s Center, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club, Cura/VNA and local schools.
